Our shopping service is one of the most important and most popular services we offer to our clients. The weekly general shop can be quite a daunting thing at times or as a working professional you might not just have the time to do a shop. Our service can be as simple as us helping you prepare a shopping list, assist you with online shopping or getting a shopping list from you either directly, by email or through a loved one. 

If we have collected or received a shopping list from you, our support worker would then visit the supermarket of your choice to choose the food and pay for the shopping. We would pay for your shopping using the payment card that you have supplied to us. We would also collect a receipt for your records and our support worker would take a photo of the receipt and send that to the office to maintain a record in the office and to ensure all shopping is accounted for. 

We have been told a number of times that people like using this service as it means they get what they want but also the food is hand picked with the longest best before date on it. unfortunately this may not be the case with a home delivery or online shopping where the items are not hand picked or the best before date is checked. 

In addition to our general shopping service would can also provide help and support in the following shopping needs.

• Assist with clothing selection
• Buy magazines, papers and books
• Collect prescriptions
• Drop off and collect dry cleaning

Q: What is a payment card?

A: In short a payment card is a bank or virtual bank card that is connected to a bank account that is able to make payments via Chip and Pin or by contactless. We recommending using a digital mobile app bank like Monzo or Starling bank. These banks use mobile phone apps to manage them, this is useful as you or a loved one can control it on your behalf by putting a set amount of money into your account for shopping etc. This also means that any of your other finances you have is kept save in your main account and cannot be accessed.
